BOOK NOW BENEFITS OF LAWN DETHATCHING Relieves Compacted Soil: Dethatching removes old rotted soil to allow it to settle back into a less tightly formed structure. Lawns that heavy heavy traffic, vehicle parking, or extended dry periods can become tightly packed over time and create a difficult environment for grass growth. In contrast, weeds love these conditions. Improves Water Penetration & Drainage: Tightly compacted soil is like a brick wall between your soil layers and water.  Without pockets of air and free space, water cannot get to grassroots, which makes it even harder for grass to thrive.  The water that collects on the top of the soil then creates other issues like fungal diseases and moss. Promotes Strong Root and Blade Growth: When roots can spread and collect water effectively, this allows for grass blades to flourish, creating a thick, green lawn. The more grass growth you can foster, the fewer weeds that can survive. Dethatching also helps new grass seed to germinate more easily, allowing you to fill in bare spots and keep your green up to par. BENEFITS OF MECHANICAL SLICE SEEDING Works Best In Spring: Mechanical slice seeding uses a gas-powered machine to cut...

Dethatching removes the top layer build up on your soil that suffocates it and deprives it of light.  This layer is made up of dead matter, grass and weeds.   How is Dethatching performed? Dethatching can be done with a special dethatching rake, a power rake, or an attachment on a lawnmower with tines.  Usually, the material is discarded or mulched back into the turf for its Nitrogen content. What are the benefits of this service? Removing this dead layer of material enables your soil to obtain oxygen and macronutrients, as well as water permeation.  Sunlight is also able to penetrate to roots more effectively after this technique is performed.  Weeds, fungus and insect pests are well documented to thrive in thatch layers left untamed.   Book Now, Save Later. Dethatching can run you upwards of $400 during the peak season.  Get it for free this season just for confirming a service you already know you”ll need.  Provide your information below and we’ll send...

We’ve provided a basic overview of the most common over-seeding methods and notes on their effectiveness. Spreading by Hand: While using the old left and rights is a very cost-effective procedure, it can produce uneven results due to the lack of spread control.  Using a rake afterwards can help the seed to make soil contact, but this method is less useful than machines that force the seed into the soil. Using a Broadcast Spreader:  This method would likely produce the most even results as spreaders are inherently pretty accurate with spread ratios, even more than machines in some cases.  The same restriction for deep soil contact that exists for hand spreading would be a downfall of this method. Using a Gas Powered Seeding Machine: This method is by far the...
Reminder. Your time to prevent Crabgrass ends soon.

Reminder. Your time to prevent Crabgrass ends soon.

Crabgrass is among the most elusive of Lawn and Garden Weeds. Many home owners spend time and money spraying patches of Crabgrass with Round Up in May and June, just to see it return in days.  Other homeowners will call and complain that a Fertilizer Company sprayed their lawn 4 times last year, but the crabgrass never got put in check as promised.  I am here to let you in on an important secret.  Crabgrass control is possible.   Timing, Timing, Timing…   There is only one way to truly rid your lawn of nasty Crabgrass, that’s to never let it get there in the first place.  Once the seeds of this weed have germinated and sprouted, you are in for a losing battle until the next cool season.  Applying Pre-emergent Weed Preventer very early in spring and late fall stops the germination process early, and allows your favorable grass seeds to flourish.  I have always gotten strange looks in March when I was applying Crabgrass control to my lawn, while others were still worrying about snow piles.  Most importantly to realize also is that your window of opportunity is very short lived, as seen in this “borrowed”graphic from Lowes.       Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn Ya! Let’s do Lawn Care Season Differently this time.  Call, email us, or Click the Booking Button below.  We will be stopping Crabgrass in its tracks during the next few weeks, so get on the list and make crabgrass a thing of the past.  Spring Fertilizer with Crabgrass control starts at just $49.  This special deal ends April 25th, along with your opportunity to finally have a #CrabGrassWin....
